Snakes are seen as symbols of death, transformation, healing, and rebirth. As a trans person, I like the idea of shedding my old skin like snakes do. As someone with a background in biology and a love of nature, I find snakes fascinating as living creatures. They're badasses! (And sometimes really cute too). Sssssysssigia (like a snake sound, get it?) as a musical and creative project is something that evokes imagery of snakes in my mind. So when I came across this fearsome snek design that someone was offering up for anybody to use freely, I thought he'd be a perfect model - once I put some words in his mouth.

Sysigia is an ancient Greek word that signifies the combining of many sounds together, which when struck at the same time (though different in degrees of tune) are so proportioned to each other as to affect the ear with pleasure.
